Raw Material Specifications

  1. Fittings conform dimensionally to ANSI B16.5
  2. Fitting metallurgy is as follows:
  1. One-piece 90 degree elbow
    1. Body is ASTM A587 pipe.
    2. Flanges are ASTM A105 forged steel.
  2. Welded 90 degree Elbow
    1. Body is ASTM A234 Grade WPB steel.
    2. Stub Ends are ASTM A587, ASTM A53/A106 Grade B or SAE 1010-1030 steel.
    3. Flanges are ASTM A105 forged steel.
  3. One-Piece 45 degree elbow
    1. Body is ASTM A587 or ASTM A53/A106 Grade B steel.
    2. Flanges are ASTM A105 forged steel.
  4. Welded 45 degree Elbows, Tees, Crosses, and Laterals
    1. Body is ASTM A234 Grade WPB, ASTM A105 Machined forged steel, SAE 1010-1030 steel or ASTM A53/A106 Grade B steel.
    2. Stub ends are ASTM A587 or ASTM A53/A106 Grade B steel.
    3. Flanges are ASTM A105 forged steel.
  5. Concentric Reducer
    1. Body is SAE 1010-1030, ASTM A516 Grade 70, or ASTM A105 steel.
    2. Stub ends are ASTM A587, ASTM A53/A106 Grade B, or SAE 1010-1030 steel.
    3. Flanges are ASTM A105 forged steel.
  6. Eccentric Reducer
    1. Body is ASTM A234 Grade WPB forged steel.
    2. Stub ends are ASTM A587, ASTM A53/A106 Grade B.
    3. Flanges are ASTM A105 forged steel
  7. Reducing Filler Flange and Ring Spacer
    1. Material is ASTM A105, ASTM A516 Grade 70 or SAE 1010-1030 steel.

C. Pipe metallurgy is as follows:

  1. Pipe shall be ASTM A53, A106 or A587
  2. Flanges shall be ASTMA105

Quality Standards

All products comply with ASTM f1545 Standard Specification for Plastic-Lined Ferrous Metal Pipe, Fittings, and Flanges

All welds are in compliance with ASME B31.3 and welders are certified to Section IX of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

Components are sand blasted and primed with Sherwin Williams Rust Preventive Primer Gray #143-0230 and suitable for top coating. Special paint is available upon request

All Parts are subjected to a minimum of 10,000 volts to detect liner defects.  An audible or visible spark through of the liner is cause for rejection.

All faces are protected by wooden end blocks, which shall remain in place until parts are to be installed

Manufacturer, ASTM F1545 designation and liner type are provided on the identification band located on the part. Lettering shall read: JCS TOOL ASTM F1545 PTFE.  Parts are also metal stamped with liner tracing number and identification on the flange when possible.

Polytetraflouroethylene (PTFE) Liner Requirements

  1. Tensile @ Yield             3000 psi min

  2. Elongation @ Yield        250% min

  3. Colorants                        0%

Operating Requirements

Parts can operate at: -20 degrees F.(-29 C) to 450 degrees F. (232 C)
